ROCKY needs a home!
Meet Rocky, a male, 1.5 to 2 year old golden retriever. He came to us after multiple calls from people saying we had to rescue him and he needed help. Little did we realise just know much help he needed. He got off the ambulance we noticed the boy had a severe severe limp.
Upon a consultation with our vets, we learned he had had a broken limb as a puppy and nobody had tried to fix it. It had healed poorly and there was nothing we could do about it. No surgery would be needed though he would always have a little limp, which can be easily managed with joint supplements.
That apart, Rocky is your typical golden retriever. He loves food, is otherwise happy and enjoys being around people and dogs. He does have separation anxiety and cannot be left alone. He is fantastic with children and dogs. He is an overall good boy with lots of love to give.
Rocky needs a home that:
- understands and is willing to provide the requisite level of care for him given his poorly healed leg, which would include providing joint supplements and may be even taking him for physiotherapy
- is experienced with working breeds, especially Golden Retrievers
- has access to good groomers, private veterinary care and trainers or behaviourists
- can provide a non-vegetarian diet
If you think Rocky is the right fit for you, do reach out to us to adopt him.
