Meet Austin, a 4-year-old, male German Shepherd. He was treated poorly and was neglected. He was used as a guard dog but is anything like one. A standard case of a breed misunderstood. He is a sweet boy who enjoys the company of himself. He is not particularly fond of other dogs and would do very well in a house with no other pets. He takes some time to open up to other dogs and may do well around other dogs with proper introduction. All he needs is structure, discipline, love and care. He is a stereotypical GSD, cautious of strangers but loyal to his very last bone. He is vaccinated and dewormed. He is neutered.

Austin needs a home that:

• is experienced with and understands working breeds, especially German Shepherds
• has access to good groomers, private veterinary care and trainers or behaviourists
• can provide a non-vegetarian diet
• can provide him a structured lifestyle, with ample physical activity and mental stimulation
• patience and commitment to training
• has no other pets
