Some stories begin with love. Trio’s began with survival.

Meet Trio, our Golden child. At just two months old, this little Golden Retriever puppy was found abandoned in a dustbin, too weak to move, with rats chewing at his leg. By the time help reached him, infection had spread. Tick fever followed. Then sepsis. His leg could not be saved, and amputation became the only way to save his life.

What could have broken him instead revealed who he truly is. Trio never gave up. He learned to balance on three legs, then to walk, then to run, all with the determination only a puppy with an unshakable spirit could have. He didn’t dwell on what he had lost. He simply kept moving forward.

Today, Trio is a three-month-old puppy with a heart far bigger than his tiny body. He is gentle, affectionate, curious, and full of life. He doesn’t see himself as different, and neither should the family lucky enough to welcome him home. Three legs do not limit him. They are simply part of his story.

Trio deserves more than sympathy. He deserves a family that will see his strength before his disability, his joy before his past, and his future instead of the cruelty he survived.

Trio needs a home that:

• • has experience with working breeds, especially Golden Retrievers and understands that he is a high-energy, intelligent dog who will thrive with structure, consistency, and proper guidance
  • has access to good groomers, private veterinary care and trainers or behaviourists
  • can provide a non-vegetarian diet
  • is committed to providing lifelong love, care, and veterinary support
  • understands that a three-legged dog can live a happy, active, and fulfilling life
  • committed continue his rehabilitation and ensure he maintains a healthy weight to protect his joints
  • will commit to training and can provide a structured lifestyle, with ample physical activity and mental stimulation to help her grow into a well-adjusted adult
  • will puppy-proof home and patience while he learns and grows
  • all family members should be prepared for the responsibility of raising a young puppy
