Meet Xenia, a three-year-old brindled Boxer girl who has overcome more than any dog should ever have to endure. Today, she is stable, resilient, affectionate, and ready for the next chapter of her life. She is looking for for a permanent home where she will be loved, protected, and never discarded again.

Xenia was found in Pune after being discarded by a breeder and left confined in a cage. When she arrived in Mumbai for rehabilitation, she was severely malnourished, reduced to little more than skin and bones. On a thorough medical investigation, it was discovered that Xenia had a large knot on her ankle that had healed incorrectly. While it may look alarming, it causes her no discomfort and she is able to go about her day without any issues. She was also diagnosed with an arrhythmia. Her arrhythmia is being managed. She has steadily regained her strength and has recovered into a healthy, happy dog.

Xenia loves people, enjoys affection, and has the playful, spirited personality that makes Boxers so special. She would do well in a house where she is the only dog. She is vaccinated and dewormed.

Xenia requires a home that:

• • is experienced with working breeds, especially Boxers and who understand their temperament i.e. their intelligence, loyalty, and need for structured guidance
  • has no other dogs in the house
  • understands her cardiac condition and is prepared to support her ongoing veterinary care, including regular check-ups and medication as advised by her veterinarian
  • can provide a non-vegetarian diet
  • has access to good groomers, private veterinary care and trainers or behaviourists
  • will provide her with a safe, loving indoor home and treat her as a member of the family
  • will give her the love, affection and security that she deserves
  • is committed to her lifelong well-being, including regular veterinary check-ups
