Sisou needs a home!
Meet Sisou, a 1.5-year-old Indian Spitz mix boy who is looking for a family that will love and accept him for who he is.
Sisou doesn’t walk perfectly, but he has the most beautiful way of moving through the world. He was born with defective hind limbs, giving him an unusual gait. While surgical intervention was attempted, doctors found that the muscles had hardened into scar tissue, meaning no further procedures could safely be done. Through months of recovery and shelter life, he has remained sweet, gentle, calm, and incredibly loving.
Despite his physical impairment, Sisou is medically fit with no ongoing medical expenses anticipated. His hind legs are uniquely formed, but he gets around fine on his own. He wants to be held, feel safe, and be protected. He is wonderful with other dogs, excellent with families and children, and has zero behavioural issues. He is remarkably independent, keeps himself meticulously clean, and does not require long walks (can easily use pee pads or a bathroom).
He is vaccinated and dewormed.
Sisou requires a home that:
- is experienced with dogs that have medical needs
- is prepared and capable of providing the medical care and attention Sisou requires, including routine vet visits to ensure that he remains healthy
- has access to good groomers, private veterinary care and trainers or behaviourists
- can provide a non-vegetarian diet
- can give him the patience, affection and reassurance he needs to settle into his new life
- will continue to nurture the happy and healthy dog that he is
Sisou doesn’t ask for much. He just needs a safe place, a soft bed, and someone who sees him as a family member rather than a dog with weak hind legs. If you think you would like to give Sisou a chance, reach out to us to adopt him. Given Sisou’s condition, as a special case, Sisou can also be virtually adopted by covering his room and board at our centre to keep him safe, fed, and cared for. Reach out to us for more details on his virtual adoption.
