JAEGER needs a home!

Jaeger came to us mid last year as a very disturbed shepherd. Restless , uneasy, uncomfortable around other dogs and generally unhappy. He complained a lot. Growled, whined, barked anxiously when there really wasn’t any good reason to. He didn’t like anyone putting a collar on him. Much less a leash.

Slowly he made friends. Rambo, Rambo junior, Charles, Lisa, Jack, Murphy, Anna, and so many more.

But they came and went . He watched them go. People came and picked up his friends and took them home. He watched. He heard people saying they loved this boy and they loved that girl but no one had anything to say for him. Nobody looked at him. It was as if he was invisible. They looked through him probably because they were intimidated by him. He’s a large dog.

And then someone came and he made them his own. He pawed at them , he talked to them and he wouldn’t take no for an answer. He insisted that they take him home. So much so that he jumped into their car and didn’t look back at us. They came to take home a lab and he said no take me instead. We thought he was home. We really thought so.

But it didn’t work out and he came back to us.

They were kind enough to tell us that he growled a lot and sometimes snapped.

They were  good enough to try with him.

He ran away and hung out with children at the other end of the property because he loves kids. He’s very gentle and very protective of children.

He’s a bit of a wanderer, our boy Jaeger. So I guess no more apartments for him.

A farm maybe with a dad who knows him well. Maybe labourers kids who won’t be afraid of him?

Maybe a mom who will pat his head gently when he’s scared  and growly.

But for  now he’s home. He’s with us safe and sound. We love him and he knows that. He can stay with us as long as he likes. He can stay with us because we know that the family that will love him like we do is somewhere waiting for him.
